The arrival of Autumn/Fall has me scouring Pinterest hours on end for styling inspiration and getting full body goosebumps with every Ellery Pre-Fall 2017 campaign shot I see.
Lately I’ve been feeling like everyday style is lacking a certain something – individualism, to be more specific – as we see more carbon copies of celebrity and trend based outfits, and less innovative styling. So naturally, seeing anything by Ellery is a refresher.
I think taking your outfit from average to notable doesn’t mean you have to make a huge statement – individuality can be found in the little things. If you’re not ready to make a big jump, try looping your belts differently (à la Aimee Song), or an asymmetric shirt tuck (like I did with this flared SheIn shirt in a subtle nod to the movement). Anything to get you off the mediocre train.
Now, if you are ready for the jump, bring on the impractical flared sleeves, obnoxiously flared pants and cut-out blazers, as below. ??? This should be interesting for me, as food stained sleeves and general clumsiness with food and beverages seem to be my signature, but for the first time I’m actually looking forward to Fall/Winter fashion.
