I sold my broken down car as a frustrated 21-year-old, and the last time I rode a bicycle before last Saturday was in Year Six when I flew over the handlebars into mud at school camp, so you could safely say I’m happily a public transport kind of gal (although knowing this, I probably shouldn’t have worn my Camilla & Marc blazer out for the first time on a bike, but thankfully we both survived without a mark).
Lekker Bikes very kindly let me borrow their Sportief 3 Speed Women’s bike in pastel blue for a shoot with Cee Jay last weekend for Kapten & Son, and after taking it for a spin in various spots around North Melbourne, I fell in love. Hard.
The Sportief 3 Speed bike has me converted. It’s comfortable, the perfect height, and super easy to cruise around in. Although I only rode up and down little alleyways (main roads are terrifying okay??), it sparked an excitement in me to start renting bikes for a day or two for days that I have nothing planned and want to spend adventuring – something I’ll test out when I’m in London later on in the year, complete with fresh blooms and picnic goods in the basket ?
Speaking of which, if you’re a London babe, hit me up and we can hopefully meet!
