Maybe it’s because we’re in the age of social media where everything has to be aesthetically pleasing, but it can’t just be me who has a certain image in mind when scrolling through Airbnb looking for accomodation. I try not to be too judgey, I really do, but I can’t help that I want a certain vibe for my temporary home away from home.
For anyone who has watched their favourites on the gram go to (or live in) Byron Bay, you’d get me when I say I wanted a Byron Bay type of home to stay in – you know what I mean right? With plenty of natural light seeping in, linen bedspreads and curtains, boho tapestries, plants and the effortless, carefree atmosphere that the town oozes.
Well I found it, and Studio Ben was its name – or as I like to call it, the Instagrammable Airbnb.
WHAT I WORE
Light, airy, eco-friendly and minimal, Studio Ben is located in Ewingsdale which is just a few minutes drive from town. We requested bikes for our trip (free of charge) and used them to ride around everywhere for the week – taking only a maximum of 15 minutes to get to town via a footpath beside the main road. Super easy!
Everything about the space was relaxing and comfortable, and conveniently located in the Arts + Industry Estate near plenty of cafes, the Stone & Wood Brewery, grocery stores and little boutiques (like Spell & The Gypsy Collective + Yoli & Otis 😍). The hosts themselves were so friendly (we even bumped into one of them at Bare Blends during a smoothie run!) and responded to any questions we had very quickly.
The studio itself is equipped with the necessities, plus beach towels, bath robes, a hammock, bikes, surfboards (both available on request) as well as high quality local tea + coffee. The only thing I would recommend to bring is a book or iPad to watch movies on for when you’ve come home after a day of exploring/shopping/sunbathing and want to relax instead of scrolling through social media. Other than that, Studio Ben has you covered!
